Dr. Jay Berkovitz is Associate Professor of Judaic Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he directs
the Center for Jewish Studies. He earned his PhD in Jewish History at Brandeis University and has published widely on the Jews in modern France. His most recent work focuses
on the history of halachah at the threshold of modernity. |
