Rabbi, Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation, Chicago

Rabbi Asher Lopatin, spiritual leader of Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation, received ordination from Rav Aron Soloveitchik and Yeshivas Brisk in Chicago, as well as from RIETS, an affiliate of Yeshiva University in New York. He holds an M. Phil in Medieval Arabic Thought from Oxford University, a BA in International Relations and Islamic Studies from Boston University and is continuing doctoral work on Islamic Fundamentalist Attitudes toward Jews. Rabbi Lopatin has been a Rhodes Scholar, a Truman Scholar, Boston University Trustee Scholar, and a Wexner Graduate Fellow and was honored by his Yeshiva, Yeshivas Brisk as alumnus of the year in 1996. He is a member of Edah’s Advisory Council.
