Dr. Don Seeman Jerusalem, Israel
Don Seeman is Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was a Wexner Graduate Fellow, and received his PhD in social and medical anthropology from Harvard University in 1997. Dr. Seeman has researched and written on religious and social issues relating to immigration to Israel from Ethiopia, (including the Feleshmura dilemma); ethics and mysticism in contemporary Israel; and gender constructs in Jewish texts, including the Hebrew Bible. He is co-author of a forthcoming translation and commentary of the Torah commentary Mei-HaShiloach, written by a radical late Hasidic master.
